Mineral Resources and Recycling 1: Excursion to the material flow paper
On 20.01.2023, the Institute for Anthropogenic Material Cycles (ANTS) took part in an excursion to the material flow paper with the students and the external lecturer Dr. Pauly as part of the course "Mineral Resources and Recycling 1". The first port of call was Aachener Papierverwertung & Containerdienst Horsch GmbH & Co. in Aachen, where the students were given an insight into the collection and sorting of waste paper from private households and businesses. Afterwards, the learning content from the lecture got a practical reference at the UPM paper mill in Hürth, when the process of paper preparation and production for newsprint was shown.
