Specialists will be required to develop efficient mining excavation and processing methods as well as intelligent recycling systems to ensure sustainable handling of the world’s resources. Graduates from the field of Raw Materials and Disposal Engineering make an important contribution to ensure that the raw materials demands of future generations are also covered.

Structure and contents of studies

80% of the study course is for the instruction of basic knowledge and skills in natural science and engineering subjects.

After four semesters, students can decide on specific modules and thus enhance their knowledge in specialist areas. The following major subjects can be selected:

Process technology

Repository safety

Requirements & Matriculation

  • High school certificate qualifying for matriculation
  • 6 week advance internship

  • Interest in natural sciences and engineering subjects

Professional perspectives

If you feel your strengths lie more in the practical field, you can start your career by completing the Bachelor degree. Graduates of the B.SC course in Mineral Resources Engineering work, for example, in mining or blasting engineering and for large energy providers. However, if you feel you want to enhance your skills in the raw material field, you can study for the subsequent Master degree in Mineral Resources Engineering.
