Mineral Resources Engineers in the field of process engineering are concerned with the processing of primary raw materials and the recycling of secondary raw materials. They are responsible for the modelling of conditioning processes and the construction and operation of conditioning systems, develop and optimise processing technologies for plastics and paper, deal with the recycling of valuable materials such as Fe/Ne metallics and are familiar with mineral materials such as stone, lime, cement and industrial materials.

In addition, Mineral Resources Engineers are specialists in the field of bio- and geothermal energy. They know how to deal with sustainable energy sources such as methane and geothermal energy.
