QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022
On 6 April 2022, Quacquarelli Symonds published the annual "QS World University Rankings by Subject". Here, the best universities at international level are determined in each of five scientific fields and 51 individual subjects. The QS rankings are among the most important university rankings worldwide.
Mining Engineering is particularly noteworthy among the individual subjects. Here RWTH manages to overtake Bergakademie Freiberg and takes first place in Germany. Worldwide, RWTH has improved its ranking in Mining Engineering by 5 places and is now in 16th place. This year, Mining Engineering is doing better than Mechanical Engineering (19th place worldwide), which has always been Aachen's best subject in the past years.
