Examination Boards
The Role of Examination Boards
The examination board ensures that the provisions of the examination regulations are complied with and ensures that examinations are conducted properly and that credits and credits are credited. It is responsible in particular for deciding on appeals against decisions taken in examination procedures. The examination board is an authority within the meaning of the Administrative Procedural Law and the Administrative Procedural Law.
Applications to the examination boards can be submitted in good time (the examination board has a processing time of 3 months for applications) via the respective departmental student advisory service. A format template for standard applications to the Examination Board is stored in the forms cabinet of the respective program.
In addition to the standard applications with format templates, individual applications can also be submitted (e.g. compensation for disadvantages). As a rule, an informal letter to the examination board is sufficient. This must include the student's data (name, course, matriculation number, address and email), the request in as much detail as possible (what is it exactly about?), a statement of reasons (why should the examination board approve the application?) and at the end a specific application (what should the examination board decide on?). In addition, you should - if available - attach relevant evidence (e.g. certificates, transcripts of grades) to the letter.
