Obituary of Prof. Hermann Wotruba
The Division of Mineral Resources and Raw Materials Engineering and the Department of Mineral Processing mourn the death of University Professor Dr.-Ing. Hermann Wotruba, born on March 11, 1958 in Bad Mergentheim, Germany, who died on February 19, 2023 in Aachen, Germany.
In deep sorrow and sympathy we take leave of our longtime companion and reliable colleague, Prof. Hermann Wotruba.
Since 1998, he was professor for the processing of mineral resources in our division and head of the teaching and research area of the same name. He passed on his invaluable expertise to students and cooperation partners with enthusiastic pleasure and enjoyed a national and international reputation as an excellent scientist.
He excellently and passionately shaped the development of sustainable processes in mining in developing and emerging countries as well as the development of sensor technologies in processing.
With his passing, we lose a highly respected and beloved colleague, dedicated scientist and teacher. We will cherish his memory and always remember his work with gratitude.
