The Unit of Mineral Processing (AMR) teaches and researches in the fields of the preparation and processing of raw materials. This includes essentially the analysis, characterization, crushing, classification, sorting and drainage of industrial minerals, raw materials for the cement and limestone industry, stones and soils, coals and various ores.
By means of close cooperation with national and international companies, teaching and further training provided is practice-oriented and on a high scientific quality level. The research projects are designed as fundamental-based as well as application-oriented. They involve current topics and make a scientific contribution to current industrial and societal issues. The main issues of our research work involve the saving of energy and water in preparz7iong and processing mineral raw materials as well as optimum utilization of non-renewable resources by means of process optimization, preparation of inefficient storage facilities and co-extraction of rare accompanying elements.
